Introduction

Kabul Seattle Community Services (KSCS) is a nonprofit organization registered under UBI-605 548 025 in the State of Washington. Previously known as Kabul Washington Association (KWA).KSCS is dedicated to serving Afghan immigrants and refugees across Washington State. Since our inception, KSCS has been committed to empowering individuals and families by providing essential resources, educational opportunities, and community support. KSCS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with IRS Tax

Our Services

At KSCS, we offer a diverse range of programs tailored to meet the unique needs of Afghan immigrants, including:

  • Family Programs: Strengthening families through workshops, counseling, and cultural activities that promote cohesion and understanding.

  • Youth Resiliency: Supporting young Afghans in navigating the challenges of resettlement and fostering leadership, confidence, and a strong sense of identity.

  • ESL Classes: Helping individuals develop English language skills to enhance their communication, employment prospects, and community engagement.

  • Driving Knowledge Test Preparation: Assisting new drivers in learning the rules of the road and passing their knowledge tests.

  • Sewing Classes for Women: Empowering women with skills that foster independence and open opportunities for income generation.

  • Outreach Events & Workshops: Organizing educational and cultural events that connect the Afghan community with local resources and services.

  • New Immigrant Resource Navigation: Guiding newcomers in accessing vital resources such as housing, healthcare, and education.

  • Refugee Support and Integration Program: Equipping refugees with the knowledge, support, and connections needed to thrive in their new environment.

  • Application Assistance: Providing support for tasks such as U.S. citizenship applications, ensuring individuals are well-prepared for each step of the process.

  • Sports Programs: Conducting sports programs for youth and adults to promote physical health, teamwork, and community engagement.

  • Other Services: Providing other necessary services and consultancy as needed by the community.

Our Mission

KSCS strives to bridge gaps and build opportunities for Afghan immigrants and refugees by delivering culturally responsive services that empower individuals to lead successful, fulfilling lives in their new home.

Our Vision

Our vision is to create a vibrant, self-sufficient Afghan community where individuals and families thrive, preserving their cultural heritage while embracing the opportunities and responsibilities of life in the United States.

ESL Classes

Today, January 17/2025, a new English class for Afghan women was started. This class is organized by the IRC and in collaboration with the Kabul Seattle organization. Our goal is to teach practical daily English conversations in an easy-to-understand way by a professional teacher for women who have recently arrived in the United States. Youth Soccer Program Kicks Off

Hosted by Kabul Seattle Community Services and funded by the IRC through the SASIC program, the Youth Soccer Program launched today, January 11th. Designed for Afghan youth ages 12–18 who arrived in the U.S. after 2021, the program combines soccer with mental health education.

Over eight sessions, participants will play soccer while learning valuable skills for managing stress and anxiety, promoting well-being, and building a sense of community.

Kabul Seattle Community Services Hosts Citizenship Workshop for Afghan Community
